Photo Diary | Washington D.C, Virginia & Maryland

Earlier this month, I took an 8-and-a-half-hour flight to Washington D.C in the USA. It was actually my first ever time flying outside of Europe, so to say I was excited is an understatement!

Whilst there, we visited different places and attractions in Washington D.C, Virginia and Maryland. There are tons of things to do in all of those states, from visiting museums and historical sites to checking out the huge choice of shops and restaurants. I’m so in love with America and hope to definitely be back in the near future! Here’s some of my favourite pictures from the trip…

The Capitol Building, home to the U.S. Senate & House of Representatives. It is located on Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall.

Inside the Capitol Building, you’ll be able to explore the Hall of Columns, Old Supreme Court Chamber, Crypt, Statuary Hall, the Old Senate, and more.
The National Mall, where Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech. The National Mall is home to iconic monuments, including the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

The White House (looks so much smaller in real life!). It has been the place of residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800.
Archives of the USA — home to the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights.
Part of the Underground Railroad in Virginia. The Underground Railroad was a network of secret routes during the early to mid-19th century, used by enslaved African Americans to escape into free states.
Virginia

I had an amazing time and would definitely love to visit more states in the future, as well as return to the ones I visited. Are you planning any trips abroad?
