I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for new shows to watch on Netflix. Whether you’re a fan of action-packed thrillers or heart-warming romances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on Netflix. Here’s 7 shows I would recommend:
Lupin
Inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin, gentleman thief Assane Diop sets out to avenge his father for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family. I found Lupin to be a very captivating and thrilling series. It offers suspense, action and great acting, and will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Killing Eve
Killing Eve is a thrilling cat-and-mouse game between MI6 agent, Eve Polastri, and an assassin named Villanelle, as they become increasingly obsessed with each other’s pursuit. If you like watching psychological thrillers with complex characters, I think you’ll enjoy this series.
13 Reasons Why
Dealing with themes such as mental health, sexual assault, and suicide, 13 Reasons Why explores the aftermath of a high school student’s suicide through a series of cassette tapes she leaves behind. It is a very emotional show with a strong, powerful message. Note: If you do decide to watch this, please look up the trigger warnings beforehand.
One Day
One Day is a captivating drama that unfolds over two decades, portraying a slow burn romance between the main characters, Emma and Dexter. The show highlights the power of friendship and love. I found it to be heart-warming (yet heart-breaking!) and I would recommend it to romance fans.
Unbelievable
Unbelievable is a gripping series based on a true story. It follows the journey of Marie, a young woman who reports a rape, only to face disbelief from law enforcement, and those close to her. As detectives Grace and Karen investigate similar cases, they soon discover the disturbing truth. This show is excellently written and acted, and really highlights how the “system” lets rape victims down.
Blue Eye Samurai
For fans of anime, you’ll love Blue Eye Samurai. The show follows Mizu, a young mixed-race warrior woman who lives a life in disguise. She is seen as a demon by Japanese society because of her blue eyes. Mizu has made it her life mission to seek revenge. With breathtaking visuals, a strong storyline, and lots of action, this show won’t leave you disappointed.
Love On The Spectrum
If you’re more of a reality tv lover, then you may like Love On The Spectrum, a show that offers a unique glimpse into the lives of young adults on the autism spectrum as they navigate dating and romance. It’s a wholesome, heart-warming show that is hard not to love!
