We all know that we should drink plenty of water – at least 8 glasses a day to be precise. Every system in our body relies on water, so staying hydrated keeps us functioning at our very best and is essential for our wellbeing. Water has so many benefits; it increases your energy, aids in digestion, keeps your skin supple, and so much more.

Studies have shown that most of us are chronically dehydrated. This is most likely because when we’re busy, it’s very easy to forget to drink enough H20. Thankfully, there are things you can do to make it easier to stay hydrated throughout the day. Here are five ways to drink more water every day and make it a habit:

Make drinking water the first thing you do each morning. That way, you’re starting the day off in the healthiest way possible. Starting early also makes it much easier to fit eight cups of water in your day. Personally, I like to start my day with a glass of warm lemon water. It’s a natural detox that has so many incredible health benefits.

2) Infuse Your Water

If you easily get bored of plain water, jazz it up by infusing it with fruit, vegetables or herbs. Not only will it taste nice, but your water will be packed with healthy vitamins and nutrients. You could try adding lemon, lime, orange or watermelon slices. Or, switch it up with fresh herbs and spices such as mint, basil and ginger. There are so many different variations to try!

3) Eat Your Water

You don’t just have to drink your water, you can eat it too! Try consuming water-packed foods such as watermelon, strawberries, cucumber, lettuce, spinach and broccoli. It’s a great way to boost your daily intake when you’re struggling to drink the recommended eight glasses.

4) Buy a Water Bottle You Love

For many people, investing in a good water bottle they love encourages them to drink more water. There are some amazing water bottles available to buy. For example, this water bottle has capacity markings on the bottle to show you how much water you’ve consumed. How handy is that?

5) Set Reminders

If you find that you’re always forgetting to drink water, setting yourself reminders is a great idea. There are tons of apps available to download that help you stay on top of your water intake. These apps notify you periodically throughout the day and keep track of how many glasses of water you have consumed each day.

  2. Yes I do! I use an app called iDrated to track my daily water intake and make sure I have at least 2 litres. It’s quite hard to drink that amount so I just put a water glass on my desk in the morning and keep filling it up throughout the day.

    In the..summer.months .it.is refreshing to have 💧 water with ice 🧊. Cubes.or if.you put.the water.in the.fridge. to get cold. When.you.use. fruit juices just put a little 😋 then.put.as much water to diluted it.
