5 Natural Ways to Remove MakeupI’m sure you already know how bad it is to sleep in your makeup. It can cause clogged pores, breakouts, skin irritation, bacteria build-up and premature ageing. So, removing your makeup every night is vital. But did you know that there’s no need to purchase an expensive makeup remover filled with chemicals? You can use natural ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen. Here are five natural ways to remove makeup:

1. Coconut Oil

There’s no surprise that coconut oil is on this list — the wonder ingredient is known to solve almost all beauty problems! Coconut oil makes a great natural makeup remover because it easily breaks down stubborn makeup whilst highly moisturising your skin. Just apply a small amount to a cotton pad and then gently rub it onto your face. Using organic, extra-virgin coconut oil (like this one) is best.

2. Olive Oil

Olive oil is an ingredient that most of us have in our kitchen, and it happens to be an effective makeup remover. Oil-based makeup removers like olive oil work well because they grab onto other oil-based products, making it easier to remove your makeup. Once done, rinse your face with warm water and carry out your usual skincare routine.

3. Honey and Baking Soda

Mixing honey with baking soda creates an excellent makeup remover. Not only does it cleanse your face, but it gently exfoliates too. First, wet a washcloth with warm water. Then, pour half a teaspoon of honey onto the washcloth as well as half a teaspoon of baking soda. Gently scrub your face to remove your makeup and rinse with water.

4. Cucumber Juice

Another way to remove your makeup naturally is to use cucumber juice. As cucumbers have anti-inflammatory properties, the juice will also help to soothe irritated and acne-prone skin. Blend a cucumber into a paste and then use the mixture to cleanse your face. You’ll love how easily it removes your makeup!

5. Milk

Milk also makes an amazing makeup remover. What’s more, the fat and proteins in milk help to hydrate your skin and allow it to retain moisture. Add some milk to a cotton pad and use it to cleanse your face. Not only will it leave your skin clean and make-up free, but your face will feel nice and refreshed too.

Have you tried any of these before? Let me know of any other effective natural ways to remove makeup that I’ve missed!
